I have been DJing in bars for almost 2 decades, anything can happen in a bar and its how the staff handles the unexpected that really shows you what the bar and staff are all about. After a tremendous and very successful Saturday night at Gin Palace, we were rocking a chilled out Sunday evening, when a group of people came in , immediately dropped over a 100 for shots and started celebrating a birthday. Of course they had a bunch of songs in mind for their party, luckily one of their number was a DJ and after a short conversation I hooked him up to the mixer and he laid down a very cool 30 minute reggae/hip hop set. During the entire time, staff had my back and the entire thing went very smoothly and was fun for all. My deep appreciation for the staff at Gin Palace, real professionals.
I will be djing a very cool Halloween party out at the beach. There will be buses from Williamsburg to the beach venue more details to come.

Today was a big one: completed my Foundation of Electronic Music course and my first week of the Ableton Intensive at Dubspot. It's been a very challenging three months and the next three will be even more so but I am really excited.
So it looks like I will be spending Halloween out at Rockaway Djing a very special Halloween party more details to come. Also this Saturday I will be doing Gin Palace.
It's rare to have such a great show all the bands were great and the vibe was radiant. Thanks to everyone for such a fun time

Last Saturday was my last A Mind Blown party until after the New Year. The five parties were a lot of fun and a real learning experience for me. I will be focusing on music production for the next few months, and improving my social media engagement process.

Very excited to have Ice Balloons playing this Saturday at A Mind Blown 5. With Kip from TVOR in the lineup it should be a great show. Shawn the groups founder has been a friend of mine for years. To me he is a great example of the kind of person who stays creative and sharing with his art and energy. Shawn was one of the first persons to invite me to DJ at his shows, he has played for my last two birthday parties and is always open and ready to work with me on projects. It's important to recognize the people who make a community vibrant and Shawn is one of them. Thanks love you brother.

It was a great night, I tried a short mashup/sample and loop piece at the start and got some great feedback. More and more people are understanding that i am trying to promote real conscious, intelligent Djing with sets that speak to your mind as well as your body. I love my monthly at Union Pool over 3 and a half years now, and am constantly trying to make it better.
Very excited that my good friend Susanne has confirmed for A Mind Blown 5. She is a aerialist and performance artist and will be performing along with Ice Balloons and The Jist.
Nichole Van Straatum finally turned over the keys to the newly redesigned website. I will be endeavoring to add content frequently both visual , audio and words. This blog will endeavor to share my thoughts about Electronic Dance Music, DJing, music and culture in general and the "behind the scenes " information we all love to hear. My hope is that the site will truly reflect my vision of PreSkool and A Mind Blown.
No words can truly express how grateful I am to have had NVS as a partner in the PreSkool project. Her creativity touched every part of the project. She l has laid out a really nice home for me on the web, hope you come by and visit often.
